Our links page provides useful links to sites that offer instruction, workshops, tools, stone and other supplies, gallery space, networks and organizations for sculptors working in different media.
This page is more about inspiration. Some of the sculptor's sites have been chosen because of the site design, but most are here because the work displayed is inspirational. Many of these are professional sculptor's sites, so if you're looking here trying to figure out how to price your work you should probably come to terms with the fact that no-one is likely to pay you $40,000 for a single sculpture unless that piece is breathtaking in both artistry and material or unless you have already established a solid reputation.
This is far from a definitive list, but here are some stone sculptors who are creating exciting work. Site's on this page will come and go. It is no reflection on any individual artist, just an everchanging glimpse at a field that people are rediscovering and reconnecting with - the art of stone carving.
Deborah Arnold from Ottawa does striking modern abstract sculpture with a very primal/natural sensibility.
Daniel Cline from Chemainus, BC has a huge gallery of sculptures from tabletop to public installations.
Candyce Barrett is based in New Mexico and does large scale granite sculptures. The combination of scale and form is awe-inspiring.
Oliver Harwood is based in Vancouver and works mostly in tufa, limestone, slate and white marble.
